How to turn a video into a Live Photo

Choose a video
Choose an MP4 or MOV from your device. H.264 and HEVC videos are supported.

This is the still Photos will show. Drag the slider to any moment in the clip and we pull that frame as the photo.

Download and import
Download the ZIP and extract the JPG and MOV. Follow the Mac or Windows guide to import both together, then transfer the Live Photo to your iPhone.

Long clips stay intact
iOS sets no length limit — a 3-minute clip imports fine. But Douyin caps motion at 3 seconds (longer posts as a still) and WeChat Moments at about 3 seconds, so there are 3, 5 and 10-second presets.

Anything in an MP4 or MOV container, H.264 or HEVC. We cannot read MKV, WebM or AV1, and we do not transcode, so convert those to MP4 first.
