The still and the movie share a Content Identifier, and the movie carries its still-image-time track. Those are the two things iOS checks before it shows a LIVE badge, and we verified the output against the iOS 26.5 simulator.

Your video is never re-encoded
MP4 and MOV are both ISOBMFF containers. We rewrite one field in the file-type header and append a nine-byte metadata sample, so a 2 MB clip is done in about 11 milliseconds with no loss of quality.
Long clips stay intact
Clips of 2.5, 5 and 10 seconds all imported correctly in our iOS 26.5 simulator test. Other apps and sharing platforms may impose their own limits.
