Privacy Policy

The short version

• The browser tools never upload anything. Converting a video, a Live Photo or a GIF happens inside your browser tab, on your device. We have no copy of those files and no way to get one.
• We collect data needed to run an account and membership: your email address, your orders, and basic technical logs. Analytics or ad providers may process browser data when those services are enabled.
• We never sell your data and we never use it to train AI models.
• You can delete your account at any time.

The LIVP app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac

The native LIVP app converts imported media on your device. It does not require a Livp account and does not upload imported media or conversion results to our servers. It accesses the videos, GIFs, or Live Photos you select, and saves results to Photos only when you choose to save them. The app stores conversion preferences on your device.

The app imports media only from the Photos and Files items you select; it does not download media from pasted links. Imported working files are kept in the app's local storage. Finished files and a local works history remain in the app's Documents folder, available in Files, until you delete them in the app or Files, or uninstall the app. Saving to Photos creates a separate copy in your photo library. Deleting a work in the app does not delete its Photos copy.

This section describes the current native app. The website's accounts, payments, cookies, and browser analytics described below are separate from the native app.

Who we are

Livp ("we", "us") is an online service for converting between Apple Live Photos and other formats. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@livp.app, through the support button on any page of the site, or by opening a ticket from your dashboard.

The browser tools

The conversion tools — video to Live Photo, Live Photo to video, Live Photo to still, Live Photo to GIF, and GIF to Live Photo — all run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your files are read from your device into the page's memory, converted there, and handed back to you as a download.

No conversion files are transmitted to us. There is no server in the conversion path and no upload step. Account, payment, support and technical data are handled separately as described below.

Because of this, we cannot see, recover, or delete files you converted — we never had them.

What we do collect

Account data. If you sign up: your email address, a hashed password, and the display name and avatar you choose. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive the basic profile those services share with us.

Orders and payments. Which membership plan you bought and when. Card details go directly to the payment provider; we never see them.

Technical data. Server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) kept for security and abuse prevention, and cookies used to keep you signed in or remember your language. If analytics or ads are enabled, those providers may also process browser data.

Support messages. Whatever you send us when you contact support, and any files you choose to attach.

What we do not collect

• The media you convert in the browser tools. We never receive it.
• Your photo library, your contacts, or anything else on your device.
• Any biometric or special-category data.

Who we share it with

Only the services needed to run Livp, and only as much as each one needs:

• Payment provider handles checkout and refunds. It receives your payment details and order total, not your account password.
• Email delivery (Resend) sends verification, receipt and password-reset messages. It receives your email address and the message content.
• Cloud infrastructure hosts the website and the database.
• Cloud storage may hold account avatars and files you attach to support requests. Conversion files are not sent there.
• Analytics and advertising providers, when enabled, may receive technical data from your browser under their own policies.

We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

• Account data: until you delete your account, then removed within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax and accounting.
• Order and payment records: as long as tax law requires.
• Server logs: a short period, then deleted.
• Support messages: until the issue is resolved and for a reasonable period afterwards.
• Conversion files: never stored by us because the browser tools never send them to us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to some processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, email us at support@livp.app from the address on your account, or use the support button on the site. We reply within 30 days.

Cookies

We use first-party cookies for traffic attribution: a 90-day first-source cookie and a 90-day event-attempt marker, plus a 30-day legacy UTM source cookie. They contain no user identifier. We record the source and its evidence, the referring origin, a sanitized landing path and selected campaign parameters, and a broad browser category. When Plausible is enabled, this context is sent with a First Visit event. At registration and purchase, first-source data may be saved with your account and order; the 90-day cookie expiry does not delete those records.

We use cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language. When analytics or advertising is enabled, those providers may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies. Free conversions are not counted or limited by a visitor cookie.

If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its partners may use advertising cookies based on visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalized ads in Google Ads Settings. We show ads only on the free tier.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to what is needed to operate the service. No system is perfect, so we cannot promise absolute security — but because the browser tools never receive your files, the most sensitive thing you handle here is already out of scope.

Children

Livp is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us at support@livp.app and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will tell signed-in users before they take effect.
